Lauren Flanagan

Member since 2021

I’m excited to be considered for a position on the Colony Swim Club Board. My husband, Brian, and I have lived in Canton since 2017 with our two teenage daughters who attend Salem. We've been Colony members since 2021. In my day job, I work in college admissions, helping high school students and their families navigate the college application and decision process. I really value the sense of community the club provides, and the role it plays in bringing families together. I appreciate the behind-the-scenes work required to provide a fun, clean, and safe environment. I’d love the opportunity to give back, help support the club’s continued success, and ensure it remains a fun, welcoming, and inclusive place for everyone.

Mike Henry

My family and I have enjoyed being members of Colony Swim Club, and I’d like the opportunity to give back. I currently serve as the General Manager of USA Hockey Arena and President of Compuware Youth Hockey, where I oversee facility operations, staffing, budgets, safety, risk management, insurance, and community events. My experience has given me a practical approach to managing people, maintaining safe facilities, being financially responsible, and creating positive experiences for families.

If elected, I hope to bring a practical, common-sense perspective to the Board while helping preserve what makes Colony Swim Club such a great place for our families and community.

Nathan Hicks

My wife, Marina, and I, along with our three children—Lincoln (15), Dominic (13) and Maggie (10)—have been members at Colony since 2017. Over the years we have enjoyed the benefits of the swim team and swim lessons. Some of our favorite activities include the Colony Dive-in Movie & Camp Out and Wacky Wednesdays.

I have a BS from Eastern Michigan University and for the last 13 years I have worked for a technology-enabled service company that develops products for health systems that improve the efficiency, transparency, and cost around equipment management. During my tenure my roles focused on product management and operational efficiency as we scaled with some of the largest health systems across the US.

Previously I served on the Colony Board from 2022-2024 and held the position of Secretary (1 year) and Personnel Director (2 years). During this time, major projects I worked on included revamping swim lesson signups, updating to MemberSplash and navigating the tornado damage to the club.

Dan Lemieux

For more than 30 years, I have built a career in risk management, developing a strong foundation in leadership, sound decision-making, and accountability. As a Colony member for over 10 years, I have become deeply invested in our community and am committed to preserving and improving it for current and future residents.

In addition to my professional experience, I have served on other boards, where I have gained valuable experience in governance, collaboration, and responsible stewardship. I am known for being dependable, reliable, and approachable, and I believe in listening to others, working together, and making thoughtful decisions based on what is best for the community as a whole.

My goal is simple: to serve with integrity, transparency, and a genuine commitment to the long-term success and well-being of our community.

Erika Myers

My name is Erika Myers and I would like to be considered for a position on the Colony Swim Club Board of Directors. My family (husband Rob and daughters Julia and Emily) and I have been active members of Colony since 2017, and I have volunteered with the swim team for the past six seasons as Volunteer Coordinator. I work full time remotely as a Program Manager for Stryker and I spend my spare time volunteering with my daughters' teams, attending Michigan State events and traveling whenever possible.

Throughout my time at Colony, I have developed a strong appreciation for the sense of community that makes our club special. As a board member, I would bring both experience and fresh ideas focused on enhancing member engagement, strengthening community connections, and improving the overall club experience.

I am particularly interested in exploring ways to engage both our long-standing members and the many new young families joining the club. I believe there are opportunities to expand social events, improve communication and member involvement, and continue investing in both our facilities and our members. I am also interested in helping the club think strategically about challenges such as balancing membership demand, managing the waitlist, and ensuring annual fees and membership levels support the long-term success of the club.

Seeing the success of the swim team and how it brings families together makes me realize how important our members are, and that we can do so much more. More social events, more opportunities to meet other families, celebrating Colony traditions and history while making new memories.

I am passionate about Colony and would welcome the opportunity to contribute to its future growth and success.

Chris Seavitt

Hello, I'm Chris Seavitt, and I'm running for the Swim Club Board to continue to help keep our club fun, welcoming, and well-managed. I had the privilege of being a member as a child in the 1990s, and am lucky to continue that tradition now as a parent. Colony has long been important to my family and me.

I believe I would be an asset to the board as I have prior board experience serving on an HOA where I worked directly with board members, contractors, tradespeople, attorneys, and insurance adjusters. During my tenure, the board and I worked together to resolve issues, including foreclosures, damaged property, and address community concerns. This experience strengthened my ability to listen, collaborate, and make thoughtful decisions. If elected, I'll be approachable, dependable, and focused on helping the club thrive for the current and future families.
