Rules and Scoring

There are no exhibition heats. All heats are “for points” where position is based on fastest time across all heats in the event.

Points will be given for 1st thru 6th places as follows: 7-5-4-3-2-1 for individual events and 14-10-8-6-4-2 for relay events (rosette ribbons are awarded to the top 12 finishers in each event).

Each club can enter more than three swimmers/entrants per event, but only the top three
finishers for that club in each event are eligible to score points.

Overall league standing for each club is scored as follows:

  • Dual Meets: two (2) points for a win and one (1) point for a tie.
  • League Meets: 6-4-3-2-1 points for 1st thru 5th
  • The addition of each team’s total Dual and League Meet points earned during the season will determine the overall League standings.
    • Tie for 1st place = co-champions
    • If the winner of the League Meet is not the League Champion, a separate 1st place plaque will be awarded to the winner of the League Meet
