Club Information

Colony Swim Club (CSC) is a private, seasonal outdoor pool club located in Canton, Michigan since 1965.  It is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. CSC has a swim team and offers swim lessons throughout the summer.  CSC offers a fun, family-friendly atmosphere for its members, guests and employees.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager will oversee and manage all operations of the club and Colony Swim Club (CSC) staff, including facility maintenance, human resources, financial management, member, guest, and employee satisfaction, and general administration.   The Operations Manager position is full time during the summer season (including weekend and holiday work) with part time responsibilities during the off-season. The Operations Manager reports to the CSC Board of Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee regular maintenance of all CSC facilities, including the pool, structures and grounds

  • Maintain a safe atmosphere for CSC Members, Guests, and Staff

  • Positively interact with CSC Members and Guests

  • Coordinate CSC season opening and closing activities with the CSC Board

  • Hire, manage and support all CSC staff, including training, orientation, certification and evaluation of CSC Staff

  • Coordinate the CSC swim lesson program

  • Attend monthly meetings with the CSC Board of Directors and maintain communication with the Board of Directors regarding CSC operations

  • Maintain staff schedule and ensure that required staff levels are met

  • Establish and maintain professional business relations with vendors and service providers

  • Maintain proper pool chemistry and ensure proper pool operations are completed

  • Manage cash control and maintain inventory for Snack Bar and Pool Supplies.

  • Assist in coordination of CSC special events, such as swim meets and member functions

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Full time availability between Memorial Day and Labor Day

  • Part time availability during the off season

  • Experience in supervising staff and day to day business operations

  • Ability to responsibly manage club finances

  • Experienced and knowledgeable in operation of pool and equipment or demonstrates ability to learn

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Maturity and ability to interact well with people of all ages

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification

  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification
